Upon matriculation from U.C. Berkeley's Master of Architecture program in 1988, Fazio earned a license to practice architecture in the State of California, and served the AIA East Bay as chairperson of the design awards program. During this time he also had an active role in developing AIA East Bay's Licensing Exam, and Project Management programs for architect candidates and emerging professionals. Before moving to the United Arab Emirates, Fazio's practice was centered in the successful healthcare, science, and education markets of Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. While in Boston, he was instrumental in delivering the Koch Institute of Integrative Cancer Research for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Now, with Stantec's multi-disciplined community of professionals, Fazio drives the project delivery process. His Stantec teams' responsibilities include design, management, and delivery of major healthcare, science, and technology projects in locations around the world. His current work includes Mafraq Hospital, a 750 bed facility in Abu Dhabi, currently under construction.
At the AIA Middle East, Fazio's focus is to support the regions emerging architect's professional development, and promote industry wide collaboration.
