Tiago Costa is an architect born in Porto, Portugal. He has a Master of Architecture degree from the Universidade Lusiada do Porto, with it's architecture roots in the “Porto School of Architecture” and its internationally recognized architecture teaching theory. At present, Tiago is completing his Doctorate in Architecture, within the theme of Architecture and Cinema, at the same institution.
As a licensed European architect in OA (Portugal´s Order of Architects), he has developed experience in different fields of architecture and related activities, such as exhibition design, design competitions, managing design projects and the renovating and remodeling of existing buildings. The way he participates in architectural projects is also diverse, ranging from individual initiatives, to partnerships or collaborations, and within larger teams for major competitions and projects.
Several master architects have influenced his output. They include Álvaro Siza Vieira in Portugal, Spain’s Alberto Campo Baeza, England's John Pawson and the Japanese architect Shinichi Ogawa.
Tiago sees Architecture, not only as a means to fulfilling the needs of his clients, but to produce work in harmony with the surrounding environment, especially in the context of the privacy of home.
