Sustainable planning in Abu Dhabi- lessons and challenges ahead

 

Presented by Kais Samarrai: senior planning Manager at UPC- Abu Dhabi Urban planning council

The presentation will examine the transformation of Abu Dhabi since the creation of the UAE and the designation of Abu Dhabi as the nation's capital and will explore in greater detail the most recent planning efforts with vision 2030. The session will highlight some of the valuable lessons learned for planners, urban designers and architects as well as discussing the key challenges facing such efforts with regards to planning for sustainability
